UNHIMAS University Adopts Shin for Certificate Management

UNHIMAS University in Cameroon has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Socious to adopt Shin for managing certificates, including diplomas and transcripts. The partnership represents a significant advancement in the university’s commitment to utilizing advanced technology for secure and efficient document management.

Why Shin?

The university selected Shin for its robust capabilities. Built on Hyperledger Identus (formerly Atala PRISM), the platform provides security features ensuring certificates are tamper-proof and easily accessible to authorized parties. This integration will streamline UNHIMAS’s certificate management processes while improving user experience.

Benefits for Students and Alumni

For students and alumni, the system enables faster access to important documents needed for job applications, further education, or other opportunities. The platform facilitates secure sharing of verified documents with employers or institutions, confirming authenticity and accelerating application timelines.

Implementation

The adoption aligns with UNHIMAS University’s broader initiative to incorporate innovative technologies enhancing the educational experience. Staff training will commence in January with a dedicated three-week period designated for implementation.
